Network LIVE launches with a rock and roll bash in Times Square’s Nokia Theatre. Taking center stage were rock icons Bon Jovi, pictured here with the masterminds behind the event. In the biggest launch party in history, Bon Jovi celebrated the U.S. debut of their brand new album “Have A Nice Day” with a concert to christen the Nokia Theatre. Showcasing Network LIVE’s multi-channel, horizontal marketing network, the concert was broadcast live on AOL Music’s Network LIVE Concerts channel, simulcast live on XM Satellite Radio, and shown live on 91 National CineMedia digital cinema screens in 65 markets nationwide to audiences totaling over 10,000.
Network LIVE’s launch event — the worldwide launch of Bon Jovi’s “Have a Nice Day” tour — was held in the brand new Nokia Theatre Times Square, an innovative, multi-use theater, developed and operated by AEG LIVE. It was the venue’s maiden voyage and a perfect proving ground for the multi-channel approach that Network LIVE takes in its production and distribution of top-notch live entertainment. A $21 million renovation of the former Loews Astor Plaza movie theatre, Nokia Theatre is wired and ready to accommodate a wide array of events including concerts, live television and web broadcasts, live recordings and more. Fans lined the sidewalks outside the theater in anticipation of what was to be a roof-shaking night of rock and roll.
