NEW YORK, Denver, CO, LOS ANGELES (September 21, 2006) – Rod Stewart returns to his rock roots in a One Night Only™ Big Screen Concertssm event from the Nokia Theatre Times Square in New York City on October 9th – the eve of the release of his first rock album in over eight years, STILL THE SAME…GREAT ROCK CLASSICS OF OUR TIME (October 10th on J Records).

This special ROD STEWART ROCKS TIMES SQUARE concert event, happening live at the Nokia Theatre on Monday, October 9th, will be presented later that same evening nationwide at 117 participating Regal, United Artists, Edwards, Cinemark, AMC and Georgia Theatre Company movie theatres at 9:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT / 7:30 p.m. MT / 6:30 p.m. PT.

The Big Screen Concerts special in-theatre event, presented by National CineMedia in association with Network Live, will be shown in High-Definition and 5.1 audio. Tickets are on sale now at presenting theatre box offices and online at www.BigScreenConcerts.com for $15.00. (For a complete list of participating theatre locations, please visit the Web site.)

Tickets for the concert at the Nokia Theatre Times Square went on sale this past weekend and sold out in less than a second, literally in the blink of an eye. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Rod Stewart has been lauded as having one of the greatest and most distinctive rock voices in history, and this exciting event will be the first opportunity for fans to hear songs from his new album, as well as see him perform his classic hits.

STILL THE SAME…GREAT ROCK CLASSICS OF OUR TIME is an incredibly strong and passionate return to form, as Stewart takes his own approach to thoughtfully selected tracks crafted by some of the best songwriters of our time including Bob Dylan (“If Not For You”), Van Morrison (“Crazy Love”), Bob Seger (“Still the Same”) and John Fogerty (“Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” which was the #1 most added single at the AC radio format 3 weeks in a row). Several of Stewart’s other selections sound like they were written for his signature, inimitable rasp in the first place, like Bonnie Tyler’s “It’s a Heartache” and “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” a 1976 hit for Elvin Bishop.

STILL THE SAME…GREAT ROCK CLASSICS OF OUR TIME comes on the heels of the unprecedented success of the four volumes that comprise his GRAMMY Award-winning “Great American Songbook” series, the biggest selling ongoing series of new music recordings in history, with a total of almost 15 million copies worldwide.
