FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Celebration Concert Park-and-Ride Map

  • There will be no public parking near Soweto's Orlando Stadium for the concert, but there will be a Park and Ride from Nasrec for all ticket holders. It takes about 20 minutes to travel between the Park and Ride and the venue.
     
  • Rea Vaya buses will be available to ferry people to the FIFA concert People can catch Rea Vaya buses to the FIFA concert.
     
  • For those taking Rea Vaya BRT to the stadium, buses will be available from 10pm to take them back to Rea Vaya stations in the inner city and Soweto. The fare is R12 return.
     
  • Gates at Orlando Stadium will open at 3pm promptly and the concert will begin at 4pm. The live broadcast will be from 8pm until 11pm. Concert goers should dress warmly, and arrive early. There will be after-show entertainment so that there is no rush home afterwards that may cause congestion.
     
  • Food and beverages will be on sale at the venue, and no food or drinks bought outside will be allowed into the stadium. There is an online map to the Park and Ride.
     
  • Cars parked illegally around the stadium will be impounded. Vehicles also cannot stay overnight at the Park and Ride and should be removed by the drivers by 2am on Friday, 11 June, or an impound fee of R1 000 will be charged.
